We all know that Brasso Polish will shine your brass prop and the metal hardware on your Whaler. BUT, the purpose of this thread it totally unrelated to our Whalers. For the past few years, I have been using this product to remove the dull haze from my headlights. It works better than anything else I have used, Just use it the same way you would on metal. If they are really dull use a polishing disk and your cordless drill. I discovered this when reading the label on an old can, where is says it can remove scratches from watch crystals.

And no, I don't own the company. LOL

It's also very effective at restoring the color and shine of the those dull, faded old plastic Perko and Wilcox-Crittenden Navigation Light Lenses.

I heard that tooth paste does the same thing, but have never tried it...Bink are your headlights plastic covered? Ford trucks they really seem to fade and discolor...

I've used toothpaste on my navigation light lenses with okay results; better than MacGuires plastic polish.

You have to use the "paste" variety, not the "gel."

I have on '05 Vibe, and the plastic doesn't seem to degrade as fast as Ford. I go over them every couple of years. I just did them again this afternoon.I had a '98 Town Car a few years ago, and the headlights were very faded. That's when I discovered and first tried using Brasso on the headlights. I used a buffing pad on an electric drill, it took about a 1/2 hour on each headlight and they looked like new, and from then on I kept them that way. Thanks Tom, I have those light lenses on my 15 footer and will clean them up with Brasso.

Good ole red turtle wax rubbing compound will take scratches out of plastic quickly. I use it on head lights and boat windshields all the time and it works quicker than just about anything out there and is dirt cheap.
