Not about boating itself.

I just ordered my copy of "Iron Fist, the Lives of Carl Kiekhaefer. Looking forward to reading it.

I have another book I stumbled across a few years ago in a used bookstore. Its called "Heart of Glass" by Daniel Spurr, published in 1999.

It is an interesting easy to read book with some pictures about the history of fiberglass boats and the men who built them. 387 pages. Lots of info about Dick fisher, Boston whalers, and Ray Hunt. It covers basically everything about the boating industry from WWII to the present time.

What other books are out there that are worth reading?

Here are a few more, Rich

"Johnson/Evinrude and the Legend of OMC" - Rodgren

"The Legend of Chris Craft" - Rodgren

"The Old Outboard Book" - (Peter Somebody -can't remember author)

"How Boats Work - a Guide for the Nautically Obsessed" - Dave Gerr

These are truly enjoyable reads (Good CAN Material!)

You won't be dissappointed!

Another excellent book by Peter Hunn is:
"Tail Fins and Two-Tones - The Guide to America's Classic Fiberglass and Aluminum Boats".
Amazing color photo's in the back of some VERY interesting boats. Some look like the late 1950's cars.
The book also has a nice section on Boston Whaler on pages 70-71 with pictures of two 13 Sports and a Nauset.
