Life moves at the speed of light: Work. Kids. Graduations. Parental-health...

Which it makes it all the more special to be able to have 1 hour of peace, as I did this Satudaray piloting my Revenge in Barnegat Bay, NJ. The wind felt great, and I felt relaxed as I had not in weeks.

No great content in this post; just an appreciation and thanks for the folks here who set me onto Whalers a decade ago.

Sal,

What you experienced is purely what boating is all about. Period.

I know you have been thinking of getting rid of your boat but, if even for once a year you are able to have that kind of "centering" experience I say the boat is worth all of it's costs.

Sal needs to put more money into that Revenge and "then" sell it at the end of summmer like he has done many times before......:-)

I used to feel that way for all the many years I ran my boats, but lately I feel that I'm "risking it all" becuase of some that have informed me that I should, no matter what the weather or conditions I need to always wear my PFD while aboard my boat, and also for my own safety I should get licenced and also carry a concealed weapon when boating, even walking on the beach. Maybe I'll just go bowling, that's pretty safe. ;)

Sal,

Nice to read to that you had some time to get out on the Revenge. I can very much relate to your "life moves at the speed of light" sentiment.

Between the new job I started in December and family obligations, I have yet to get the Outrage ready for the water.

I am hoping to spend the better part of this weekend working on the boat. Perhaps, then I, too, will be able to have my own little moments.

But, like you, I am considering putting the Outrage up for sale later this summer, and deferring boat ownership until I have a bit more time.

Speed of light is correct. After years of looking for a boat that was right for me I bought a 18 Outrage last week. My boys are super excited being teenagers and look forward to piloting the boat themselves. I wish I would done it sooner. Having not seen a buffer in years this boat is really wakeing up. It may be almost as shiny as "Hells Bells".
