Do not know were the money is coming from... to build them or buy them, South Fla. is very hard to find a job right now...unless you want to cut yards for a living... |

I think the boat building/manufacturing industry has left South Florida for good. For the past 20 years it has been growing in South West Florida from Cape Coral up to Bradenton/Palmetto. Better logistics, cheaper property, lower wages, and better access to main thoroughfares. I have no idea on the authenticity of this article, but when the industry come back it won't be in S. Florida. rich |

There were two boat builders in Cape Coral, now only one that was just sold & does not have any of it's boats, at any of it's past local dealerships..... North Carolina on the other hand has picked up several boat companies that were in Florida. So far, I don't see the new increase locally in S/W Fl.... |

Bertram recently moved to Merritt Island FL - while not south Florida (we call it east central) they certainly didn't leave the state either, for that I am thankful. While my personal business is not boat building (nor lawn cutting) we have seen a significant increase in revenue this year. It started strong and has maintained the momentum. I have no clue why (if you watch the news its all doomsday) but I will take it and be thankful every day for it. |
