You should follow the instructions on the Drift Card and let us know what you find out from the originator of the Drift Card. |

So, these drift cards are screwed to a piece of wood and then let go out in the ocean? |

The card is most like from one of the many studies Curtis Ebbesmeyer started looking at ocean (and Puget Sound) circulation. Here's some info on him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_Ebbesmeyer He also has provided information to this whaler forum regarding a drifting whaler hull, in e Cetcea section. By the look of the card and the material used, the one you found is fairly old but has not been in the water for a long time. |
