Chriscz	posted 08-13-2012 11:03 AM ET (US)             The card is most like from one of the many studies Curtis Ebbesmeyer started looking at ocean (and Puget Sound) circulation. Here's some info on him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtis_Ebbesmeyer He also has provided information to this whaler forum regarding a drifting whaler hull, in e Cetcea section. By the look of the card and the material used, the one you found is fairly old but has not been in the water for a long time.
