Guys, I have a problem I just purchased one of those drain plug led lights for my Montauk 190. Problem is when I rcvd the light and tried to screw it in it was a tad smaller than the drain plug hole. I think the light is a 3/4" size and my drain plug is no doubt a little larger I would guess 1 inch.

Any suggestions on what I could do not to loose 50 bucks?

Thanks,

Fred

On older BW's the drain plug is not a threaded fitting. Is this the case with the newer Montauks also?

It is a threaded fitting, 1" is my guess.

First thing you need to do is determine the size and thread type for both the drain plug and the drain plug hole. Then shop for a bushing that will properly fit both. Google search on "threaded bushings" and you will find multiple sources. Be sure to use brass, stainless or plastic.

A real good hardware store (maybe west marine) should carry these (Do not waste your time at Home Depot or Lowe's)also there are some sites on the computer to check out. Just Google bushings and try Mc Master Carr...good luck

Disregard question on drain plug LED light, I should have googled first and asked a question later. At 4:30AM it wasn't registering.
