Hi all. I recently purchased a 1976 Montauk, without a trailer. I found a trailer company that I like, called Venture trailers that make a nice Bunk trailer. I also like the price point of their products. The more I reading however, the more I notice that Whaler recommends a keel roller trailer. Can I cause damage to my hull using a bunk trailer? Cheers! |

From my article on trailer configuration in the REFERENCE section I pull this quote:

Thanks Jim, That helps - I really like the Venture trailers. Most important to me will be the ability to launch and then remove my boat from the lake alone when required... |

My 97ish Montauk came on a Shorland'r bunk trailer. 15 years, 800ish lauches, 800ish retreivals, no problem. The Shorland'r has two bunks, one port side, on starboard side. I guess that counts as multiple bunks. The owner's manual seems to indicate that it's OK. Net: "multiple" does not mean "greater than two" at least for

I've got an 85 Montauk on a 2000 Shoreland'r with only 2 bunks that the boat has been on for the past 12 years. No problems here. |
