Just got back fom a day with our son and wife from Newport Beach, we took a Duffy boat cruise of Newport Harbor and could not believe all the Whalers we saw!

I was there twice this week. Yeah , I think I saw more Whalers there than any town I have been to before. maybe that is the reason that was my favorite California town that I visited this week. We were hanging out at a great neighborhood there called Balboa Island. Cool. The houses are each about 1500 sq feet or less and cost at least $2 mil. Most of the houses have some kind of a Whaler tied up in back. |

That is mostly because that area has one the best Boston Whaler dealers in the country. Schock Boats in Newport Beach, CA has been a family run boat business since 1946 and has been a Boston Whaler dealer since 1962 - oldest Whaler dealer in the United States. We have purchased several Boston Whalers from them over the years and they are some of the most knowledgeable (and nicest!) Boston Whaler people I have ever met. It's no wonder they sell so many boats. |

I was out there in September, what a beautiful corner of the world, I had dinner at Wilma's Patio on Balboa, FANTASTIC meal! I couldn't believe all the Whalers myself. The Bluth's Banana stand was on Balboa Island on Arrested Development. |

With the Arrested Development advent, Newport is now my favorite CA destination. My buddy had a 42' Tolly Sportfisher that we took to Newport a couple times. |

I had lunch at a grill right on Newport Beach, the name escapes me but I had their grilled Mahi sandwich (I added a slice of Avocado) and their oyster sampler (8 oysters of 4 different varieties). It was one of the best meals I had out there. My mouth is watering just thinking about it, I have to get back out there, soon. |
