What is the proper navigation light for a 1981 Sport 13? So far I've seen three types, a simple stand alone light, a light on a plate with "bollards" and another light on a plate with bollards that has a 90 degree bend in the plate.I like the lights on a plate that serves as a chock for the bow lines but am curious as to what is original. Thank you. Butch

Simple stand alone was the default option. We added two factory options to our 1992 13' Sport when we bought it. One was the light with the bollards that wraps over the rubrail at the bow. The other was side rails. IMO they were both useful bling. |

Thanks for the information. If I understand correctly the stand alone light was the "standard" light while the wrap over bollard type was an RPO (Regular Production Option). If that was the case in 1981 I can replace the stand alone light with the wrap over bollard type and that would be a correct light to use for a restoration. I intend to replace the rub rail in July or August when the ambient temperature will, hopefully, make it a little easier for a one man job. Replacing the navigation light and wiring at that time seems a good way to proceed. Butch |
