Very Nice! Love that old Sakonnet with original Bearcat. Notice the Menemsha parked next to it before they left the dock?

Chap, that was terrific. I loved that both boats were classic Whalers (note that one had MS registration, the other SC) and the classic Jeep Wagoneer tow vehicle was great as well.

That old 55-hp did a fine job.

Great film - thanks.
That 55 HP Homelite/Bearcat, because of powerhead HP ratings back then, would be equal to about a 40 HP outboard today.
But the 17 hull was a lot lighter too. The bare hull 17 in the early 60's was 500#.

Also, did you notice that the 16'7" in South Carolina is actually an Eastport with the casting platform option?

Chap,

Awesome find!

First Whaler I had was a 1967 Nauset with the original 75hp Johnson...

Love that engine and Whaler...

Thanks for posting,
Norm

That was a very cool video! After all the years of technology improvement, and the jigging troll still works, even with an artificial eel! Awesome. Thank you. zotcha.
