I just noticed that this September was the 15-year anniversary of the CONTINUOUSWAVE.COM domain. The website was on the nascent world-wide-web for about four years prior to that under a different domain, so it is actually about the 19-year anniversary of having a website related to boating on the internet. It has been a pleasure hosting all of you, your hundreds of thousands of articles, and becoming very good friends with a huge bunch of you. I look forward to another 15 years or more in the future of CONTINUOUSWAVE.COM and more great boating adventures, both on-line and on the water.

Jim,I've been reading , enjoying, and learning from this website for about 13 years. The depth of knowledge and dscussions are fantastic. Some of the characters are iconic. i.e. Hooter, Mr. Mercury (LHG), Tony, Binkie, the euridite Tom Clark, and my favorite font of knowledge Bigshot et al. I do want to thank you for generally keeping the threads on track, insisting on proper grammar, and generally keeping the Mercury people in their place. I have, however, become dismayed by your current creeping bias against old 2-stroke motors as being environmently damaging. Was this brought on by your purchase of a direct injection Evenrude and the lack of burning oil in the morning? I do hope That Continuous Wave will continue to be here for 15 more years for me to read, enjoy, and learn. If it is, it will probably outlast my Social Security. Thanks again best regards---knothead |

knot'--I really do not consider that older two-stroke-power-cycle outboard engines are egregiously environmentally damaging--they just burn almost twice as much gasoline and turn a lot of their oil into smoke. On that basis, they have to be doing twice as much damage as a modern engine. They do, of course, exceed the present regulations on exhaust emission set by the EPA, the California Air Resources Board, and the European Union, so there can be no doubt that older, classic, two-stroke-power-cycle outboards are non-compliant with present day regulation. Of course, so is the VERADO. This suggestion of a bias is an interesting topic, and I would be glad to pursue it in its own thread. Why don't you start it? |

Jim, great effort on your part to keep CW up and running for so many years. Safe to say, almost every participant has hung in or walked away with more knowledge of the Boston Whaler than before they clicked in. That is impressive. Worth mentioning is the friends I have gathered thru the site.... Nick(Tohsgib), Len (an86Carrera), Janice, Pete and many others including yourself and the Michigan clan that welcomed us one Christmas season. You have created something more than a website. It's more of a fraternity without the requisite lodge and bar. Who needs the Moose and Elks, we've got Whalers!!! |

Although I am a greenhorn to this sight,I have spent quite a bit of time of late soaking up so much information that will help me return the "Reel Easy" to classic form. In this short time I have come to appreciate the incredible amount of time and effort you have put into making this the great resource it is. Congratulations for what you have accomplished and thank you so much. Thanks to all those that contribute as well. |

One thing that the Elk's have to their advantage: very cheap beer prices at their bar. |

Hi Jimh,I've been lurking, reading, and a member for a while now. I appreciate the website and the tireless effort you have put into creating and maintaining it. You are an excellent story teller, and I appreciate reading your cruising articles, as well as the vast compilation of Boston Whaler knowledge that is available here. In my opinion, this is the best boating website that I have found. Many thanks. |

Jim - congratulations and huge thank you - for your dedication, effort, goals, keeping your website from capsizing or sinking by striving to keep the threads headed in the right direction, your knowledge - and everything else. I have often thought that I would like to meet you - and others. Perhaps one of these days I will venture out your way. Thanks again --- Jerry/Idaho |

Jimh, this website and community was an irreplacable resource while researching to buy my first boat, a 1974 13'. So it has actually given me the gift of boating. Boating has provided immensely valuable memories to my friends, family and me. Thanks for your gift, it is larger than you may realize on the average day! |

Bravo-Zulu: Being a member here has cost me thousands in the form of buying more Whalers after having my level of enthusiasm maintained by association with the gang. And to think I would have been happy with just one 'Tauk before stated participating here... ;-) Dave

I have to observe that "rekindled...childhood passion" probably plays an important role in the interest so many of us have for Boston Whaler boats from their classic era. If I had only had my own 13-foot Boston Whaler when I was a boy, perhaps I would not be so keen on having one now. |

I wish such a resource would have been around when I first bought my Whaler back in 1981. However things were different back then. Our small local dealer was truly local and sold Whalers because of their love for them, not at some mega multi brand dealer, so prominent today.I would spend a lot of time hanging out, listening to the guys who sold Whalers talk about them, which were the best models, repair tricks, and all manner of topics such as that. Not too much unlike the threads on here. |

Congratulations and thank you for your time and work in creating a great site for Whaler enthusiasts! I also enjoy the travel logs and pictures, it is a "cheap" way for me to enjoy boating in other parts of the country. Thanks again,Robert |

Jim, Your site has been the single most valuable source of information, education, and socialization I have experienced on the web. I have learned more about Whalers than any mortal is entitled to have absorbed, and applied a lot of that information to my Whaler obsession. Thanks for all the years - and don't stop now....!

Just checked and I registered on this site on 8-16-2000 so I've been around about 13 of those years. I Don't post as much as I used to because most of my boating time and money is going to kids these days but I still log-on almost every day. Don't do facebook and only registerd on Linked-in because my employer made me... This site is the only social media I participate in.Thanks for creating this community for us Jim. Now if I could only add one of those smiley face things here and post a picture. (Just Kidding) Ll.

Jim, I add my thanks to your 15 year anniversary and super website, and your daily efforts keeping it going strong. The technical articles and reference sections have been most valuable to me. The site is entertaining too when the subject matter wanders a bit! My hat is off to you. You are a great American and a Boston Whaler Patriot. Thank you! |

Jim --I don't know of a better moderated, edited or interesting website for a particular bunch of 'fanatics' anywhere. The discussions are always fun and the level of critical and technical thought here is outstanding. There are very few places on the web where if I found the site gone I would be very disappointed. I hope you can keep it going as long as there are 'Classic Whalers' running on waters fresh and salty. Pretty good that your anniversary is around Thanksgiving -- so thanks for you and for the CW-ers that you've attracted to this place! Best M |

Jim: Thks for a great site, I read it daily without fail and have rcvd many great ideas from this great crowd of Whaler fanatics. Aside from my wife and kids (maybe) my Whaler is my greatest passion and pastime. So from sunny Puerto Rico my sincere thanks for keeping this crew on course for all these years. Fred |
