I don't participate in discussions much anymore, for several reasons. But do read from time to time, articles posted on topics of interest. I have noticed a clear absence of contributions by Tom Clark. I didn't always agree with Tom...sometimes I think his head was a bit big for his cap, but he was clearly the most knowledgeable guy when it came to classic Whalers. Did he sell his Whalers and move to Grady White or something? |

I think Tom has factory whaler reference books that he sits and reads by the fire during the winter... |

Tom always has the maturity to not entangle himself with the wackos that occasionally used to post on this site. I don't expect to see him post on this thread. I wish I could say that for myself. rich |

Just to assist squelching rumors - I am not sure about Tom's fleet but Jeff, who is core to this group and discussion boards, recently purchased a Grady White for family use, open bow runabout. Not sure of model. Jeff has owned plenty of Whalers and his fam has a very nice Revenge used a lot offshore Lake Michigan and for salmon fishing. Respects to both Tom and Jeff, as well as so many others, who have been generous with their time, experience and reliable advice for me and all of you. Peace. |

There is no doubts that some of "those" guys are forever campaigning for votes. Wish that they would consider cleaning their brown noses before starting to kiss the babies. Have we ever consider that to be un assuming and humble may be an actual trait of nobility? |

Jeesh, thought TA was gone the way of GBII. Haven't heard a peep from him since then. Wonder if he has been doing self portraits while bathing in the tub also? |

The 'Selfie' is an Obama thing. Looks like Obama is going the get the "Narcissist of the Year" award for the 6th year in a row. Nobody even close. |

I think this may have been Tom's swan song...a clash of ego's. http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/022386.html Not surprising. There is good information embedded in past articles here, but most of the current content reflects more of a blog than anything else... |

There are readers and there are writers. They are not always in equal number. I don't get the concept of a posting that begins, "I don't participate in discussions much anymore..." It sounds to me like you want to have a discussion about the discussions. I learned a long time ago that once you start having discussions about the discussions the topic becomes rather unrelated to boating, and turns into people, personalities, and axe grinding. The purpose of this website is to collect and organize information about Boston Whaler boats and boating with them, to freely provide it, and to share it. If you are someone who only wants to read and does not want to contribute, that is fine. But if you want to contribute, please try to add something about boating, rather than trying to psychoanalyze what other people do, why they do it, and what it means. |

Ok, here it is without the psycho-analysis. Why did Tom C stop posting here? If this were my site, I'd want to know why the most knowledgeable member and 2nd most active participant all of the sudden stopped opining on topics. I'm sure a majority of members might also be interested, since he seems active at Whaler Central. If you don't want to answer, or want to pretend it is of no significance...that's fine. Just say so...no need to psycho-analyze... |

You'll have to ask Tom why he does what he does. I cannot speak for Tom. I think if you send him an email he would probably reply. Whenever I have sent Tom an email he has replied promptly. I can say this: the last time I noticed an old friend was not posting, I called his cellular telephone and left a message. Then, not too long afterward, I was extraordinarily shocked to learn he had passed away. I am speaking of Tony Wilde. This taught me that people sometimes have other things going on in their life besides posting here. |

[Wow, that's too bad about Tony...he had a big heart.] And also a keen way of debating HIS personal take on a number of topics. |

Hey, all is well with me, I've just been really busy lately. I've been making a point of checking in here regularly to see what's up but, perhaps because it's the slow time of year for boating, I have not spied any particularly interesting subject lines or simple queries that could not easily be answered by other folks here. I looked at the meaningless subject line Just Wondering... many, many times before curiosity go the better of me this morning. Just saying... |
