This interesting topic will be aimed at the curious and internal combustion/outboard enthusiasts making a large % of this group. There is several ways to enjoy recreational boating economically today. The future of motor designs and economical applications are endless when putting to work what some of our most brilliant minds have already brought forth.(Since 87,I am told..) This one will debatably be the true hot topic of the next decade. This Gent from Utah,Paul Pentone is bringing 1-Simple design 2-Economy 3-Unlimited applications. 4-Could be the next best thing to sliced bread. I hope that you will enjoy this brief clip as much as I did..Today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSiShiu9Sgs |

If this is going to be a hot topic for the next decade, why has it been unheard of for the past two decades? The date on the video is 1992. I imagine if the technology was as good as advertised, we would have heard something about it in the past 22 years. I remember in the 70's when gas prices started rising and people said there were carburetors that could get 100 mpg. No one ever saw one, but everyone had heard about them. There will always be people claiming to have a super efficient engine. |

Hey David, Not to say that to re invent the combustion engine; as a necessity; will be seen as over the top. The way the process of the fuel induction in a ventury fashion to be channeled upstream within the exhaust tube and acting as an heat exchanger is the beginning of the process. What will happen next seems to releague to molecular transformation. I am sure that the patent for this "new"principle in fueling is (somewhere) extremely lucrative for someone. No heat loss, no carbon emission and choices of "FUEL" makes this motor a"must" to study and acquire if available. Love to be the apprentice in working on the design. Can you guys give me ten reasons in less than a hundred words as to why You and I.. have not managed to buy one of those multiple application little motor this year? PS-How much would you pay..Or what would be expected to pay for a proven outboard with these kind of options? |

Please end the meaningless pseudoscientific drivel. Delusions or hoaxes, the woods are full of breathtakingly promoted garbage. |
| egres |
Easy now Cooper Better to be silent and take a chance in not being exposed as an a hole then to spout of without care and in doing so to remove all doubts for all to see.. If not inclined to bring some positive comments to this ACTUAL internal combustion/marine outboard conversation. Please abstain slowing down the production. No point sulking,as there is always room for debatable and debatable opinions.. Now then.. Where were We? |
| egres |
Jim, In the light of seeing the content of Cooper's last entry being modified; You have once again did a fine job changing one's words but have thus put my topic at a dis advantage by re endorsing Coop's ridiculous r.d neck slur. |
| jimh |
Egres--What on Earth are you talking about? First, you start this topic by appending it to another thread that is completely unrelated. I have cleaned up that mess. Second, you accuse me of doing something evil in this thread. Look, I have not even read this thread or followed any of the links. And you are making a fuss that is entirely of your own invention. Please remain calm. If Coop' says you are pointing to meaningless unscientific drivel, I think there is a 99.99-percent chance he is correct. By the way, you spelled "combustion" wrong. Don't blame that on me. And if something dates to 1992 it can hardly be considered to be "news" or to be newsworthy. |

My understanding of this technology is that it is part real, and part hoax. A rough running lawnmower engine can hide the rough running characteristics of a diluted fuel mixture. Which is what this adaptation provides. From my reading most engineers will tell you that's the engine will indeed run, however it would never produce the energy output needed to rival the performance of current engines. The good news for believers is that in this free economy you may choose to spend your money as you wish. There are currently two organizations which offer plans for how to convert your engine. Why don't you give it a try and report your results here? In my limited experience, if something that I desperately want to be true is promised, it is usually a hoax. I would certainly be interested in a technology that provided miraculous increases in economy, however if that were really available, there would be extremely expensive engines that provide this benefit already available on the market. Someone would stand to make billions for themselves and trillions for their investors. There is no way, by my thinking, that that money has been left at the table. |

Gentlemen, To blame or debunk may have a way to entertain the debate. The subject at hand is entertaining, actual and lucratively popular. With today's outboard engine @ 25% fuel efficiency To refine the engineering of the "ICE" and make it fully efficient "fuel wise" will be the only logical path. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engine_efficiency And to briefly mention the Steam Engine(63% fuel efficiency)as a precursor to today's Internal Combustion Engines or ICEs Buckda,You are stating some time proven wisdom s. |
| swist |
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the obvious "big oil conspiracy theory". They run the country (via legislators in their pockets). A wholesale change away from the traditional internal combustion engine is not good for them, hence no advances happen on other fronts. |
| egres |
Of course Swist,,the reason that we are all paying a premium for gas has nothing to do with coincidence and everything to do with careful planning. You; at least; have expressed an opinion about a related subject. |

quote: Probably true. But as long as the legislators have the power they do, businesses will always try to buy it. ALWAYS. Take away the legislators power to make or break a business, and see how fast the corruption money evaporates. Then the businesses will have to live or die on their own merits. -Peter |

Is there any way to read some expository article in plain text about this new marvel of energy conversion which has remained unadopted for decades despite being a revolutionary improvement? Or is it necessary to sit through some audio-video presentation to learn about it? I much prefer to read some well-written text about engineering marvels in preference to watching (what are often poorly produced motion picture recordings on) YouTube. |

^^ Answer: No. Why? Because it's nonsense. Why have the nuts found this forum to camp out on?

Jim, there are a few things you can read about this that are interesting. Nothing like a little securities fraud to keep busy engineers counting... years.

"Paying a premium for gas" ??? If ketchup sells for about $8.00/gallon, I'd say the price of gasoline at $3.00/gallon, with all the hazards inherent in producing it, all the regulations governing producing it, and it's widespread availablity, is the deal of the century. Please take your trolls elsewhere. They're not even amusing. |
| egres |
If there was any single doubt left in understanding that for some; To spout of negative c..p is the way things ought to be. And I will stop short of calling them "handicapped" in their ways to always see the glass half empty and never full. This thread is about serious considerations about well needed explorations and improvements to what we have resigned ourselves to work with these days EI- Marine Outboards. Had to laugh at "Ketchup" eight buck/gal entry. Goes well with Spud I guess. Fuel is presently sold @ about $4/gal (US) http://www.fineedge.com/fuelsurvey_us.pdf And in Canada here @about $5/gal http://www.fineedge.com/fuelsurvey_can.pdf Something has got to give sooner then later as the middle class making the vast majority of recreational boaters in the American continent will soon be devoid of the means to enjoy what we have always taken for granted..Motor boating. If inclined to bring some positive suggestions in trowing your two cents worth, You are most welcome. If bent into been a spoilsport and Nay Sayer please abstain from scuttling the interest from the ones that have something to ad to the above subject. After all this should be fun and Motor Oriented and not a dumping ground for "Bad Attitude". |

^^^ Who let in the nut? Dave . |
| egres |
Wow Sutton, What a little cuss you're turning out to be. No point hanging the jib. You got caught hornswagling.. Give yourself a break and try using Preparation H. I would caution you in making it just right as your head just might totally cave in as a result. Someone should let him out and tell him to play nice..and bring a spring upon her cable. Goes a long way to show how low the morale has become on this site when some determined klunk like marvelous Dave here can hijack a thread like this one with the evident moderator's approval. and set a depressing tone. Beside the blurting eloquence from the one liner here. Has anyone else got any more input worth mentioning? |
| Dave Sutton |
^^ Not gonna sugar coat it, so here goes: Your hero is a *criminal* with a long history of fraud and securities violations. Anyone who doesn't view his speil while laughing at him as an obvious fraud has a problem with intellectual rationality. You're promoting his fraud. Thus you're either a shill, or just a nut. Since you seem honest enough, your're "probably" not a shill. Thus the alternative possibility of you just being a nut is far more likely. Dave . |
| egres |
Davey Me Boy, Cant you do better then coming up with "An Honest Nut"??? |

when egres (Serge) gets off the subject of Whalers his posts and threads are always "offbeat" or farout. But they are somewhat entertaining anyway. When he writes about Whalers, his prose is somewhat poetic and flowery, so he can write a looong post and really not say anything. But he's part of the pack that makes up this website. rich |

Glad to see that reason and self control is back in command.. And Bink, Something good must be happening with you lately as you have never sounded so..positively healthy. Give it up.. Won the lottery? Got newly engaged with Sugar Lady? My meaning can and will be apparent if you re read my words. Enough of the fluff now. I personally don't give a r.t's ass if Pentone has had financial problems and did this and that to prevail. The point of mentioning him is the INNOVATION that he is clearly showing coupled to the small engine bolted to the plywood base. That has piqued my interest and brought this subject here to be. I will apologize to the group if perceived as not having been clear enough about the positive intent brought on with this subject. Curiosity is still alive today. |
