Honda Marine has just announced a promotion, good until May 17th, for the states surrounding the Great Lakes. "Instant" cash back plus 2.49% financing for outboard only purchases and 4.99% for boat/motor package purchases.

Thanks so much for bringing this promotion to our attention. It seems unusual in its geographic limitation, but it looks like a good deal for boaters in the Great Lakes.

What a shame...
I'm in search of new power for my 280 Conquest and would love a pair of 4 stroke Honda 250hp engines...
Why just the Great Lakes region?
And I'm in NY, which last time I checked, borders Lakes Erie and Ontario!!!

Last time I looked Pennsylvania bordered Lake Erie (Erie Pa. ?). Good thing Honda doesn't make your GPS! LOL

I'm just loving my new 250 Honda. It's lovely purring around our local waterways with a motor which is so much like a modern car motor. Reliable, quite and fuel efficient when cruising yet powerful when one wishes to put the hammer down.
Even my wife, who is often critical about money I have spent outside of her domain commented positively on my recent purchase.

The states involved in the promotion for Honda are probably those states served by a particular distribution segment of Honda. Even though Pennsylvania has some Lake Erie shoreline, the distribution of Honda engines in Pennsylvania probably comes from a different segment of Honda's operation--at least that is my guess. Maybe the regional manager thought sales in the Great Lakes needed a boost.

This is kinda funny, the states that are included in this promotion don't currently have usable water while those excluded do...

I think this promotion is less about the states on the great lakes and more targeted into the heart of the Sturtevant, Wisconsin and Fond du Lac, Wisconsin manufacturer’s mid-west customers’ base. Honda is giving its dealers some “tools” to attack the competition – they should give away a Honda EU1000i generator with each purchase of an outboard of 150hp and above… that would help capture all the ice fisherman and campers….
