I was a surprise, seen on the BOOT Dusseldorf the new Yamaha F115. Larger displacement, lower weight Photo's: https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos?pid=5973324530005717058&oid=105522336331079598117 https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos?pid=5973324530619458034&oid=105522336331079598117 |

Looks sorta' like what they did with the F60 to make it into an F70. Increase displacement, lower weight, increase maximum RPM. 381 pounds vs. 401 pounds for the current F115 (Long Shaft 20-inch model) 1832 cc vs. 1741 cc 5300-6300 WOT RPM range vs. 5000-6000 WOT RPM range I wonder if Yamaha is laying the groundwork for a slightly more powerful model based on the same platform, an F125 or F130? |

The next motor for my 1995 Outrage 17! Slightly less weight and more power then my 2004 Mercury 90 Fourstroke. Nice! http://finance.yahoo.com/news/ yamaha-f115-more-compact-powerful-140000658.html - Chris |

I'd buy the F115B over the old model just because it looks better. I think Yamaha would have introduced this as an F125 or F130 right from the start if they intended to have a model in that range just as they did with the F200 which is slightly larger than the F150. I think its more likely they would come out with an F100 built on this platform just as they have now detuned the F200 to make an F175. See //www.yamahaoutboards.com/yamaha-advantage/news/company-news/ yamaha%E2%80%99s-new-f175-great-addition-line-four-cylinder-family . They will need something in the 100 HP range to compete with the Evinrude E-TEC 90 HO which is essentially a detuned 115. |

I hope they mounted the VST outside of the intake manifold on the new model. Servicing the VST on the F115LA was a pain in the %#^. Chris - I agree, this is great news for Outrage 17 owners. |

"Servicing the VST on the F115LA was a pain in the %#^. " That's also true for the HPDI 150 and the VST isn't even stuffed behind the intake manifold. |
