Boston Whaler have redesigned the 345 CONQUEST for model year 2014, giving the boat a new configuration of the helm location and cabin companionway entrance. The new model 345 CONQUEST has moved the helm console to the Starboard side of the cabin, and put the cabin companionway entrance back to centerline. This is in contrast to the original 345 CONQUEST model, where the helm console was located on centerline and the cabin entrance was on the Starboard side of the cockpit.

I have not seen the new 2014 345 CONQUEST in person, so I will reserve comments about it, but I will say that one of the coolest features of the old 345 CONQUEST was that centerline helm console. I thought the centerline helm gave the boat a special feeling, a real big-boat design and feel.

Generally Boston Whaler does a great job at soliciting and listening to customer feedback, and I suspect that the change in the helm location may have been prompted by suggestions from owners of the old 345 CONQUEST.

It also looks like the ventilation of the helm area has been changed. In the new 345 CONQUEST the fixed windshield appears to be fully height to the cabin roof, but I cannot tell about the side windows. I am not sure if the upper part of the side windows are intended to be fixed glass or removable isinglass.

A 345 PILOT model has also been introduced. This model has an enclosed pilot house, and is probably intended for colder boating areas than the tropics.

The new models are shown on the Boston Whaler website at

The 345 CONQUEST has always been out of my price range, but it is still fun to dream about.

I agree it is fun to dream a bit. They sure stand out at the boat show.
Maybe just maybe with the sale of my boat I may be able to afford the taxes.

Its hard to stomach sometimes but this is what Whaler has become. This is their market now. The big heavy priced first class luxury Walkaround models. The 17-25 is not there and I think if one is to look closely over several years minus maybe the 235 you can see where there pride lies now and its not in the smaller Montauk and Outrages and Cuddies. This is not to say the others were poor quality boats, but the real fine quality details in function and design that make a boat special and popular are evident in these big boats. Apparently they truly are selling a number of these as well.

(Mentioned in another thread but repeating it here)

The newly re-designed Boston Whaler 345 CONQUEST has won an award for innovation at the Miami International Boat Show 2014 for its design of the sleeping berth to dining table conversion by electrical actuators. This is demonstrated in a video at

The above video is a nice tour of the boat by its product manager, Wil Rogers, of the Boston Whaler company. You may have to sit through a brief commercial announcement to see the target recording.
