Hi Guys,
I know it's not BW material, but have any of you experienced the coast of Turkey.
I thought about somehow contacting that guy who's travelling around the Dalmatian coast in his 21' Conquest, but I think it might have got all to hard... We have budgeted on a 5 week holiday.
My wife is about to reach a milestone birthday and demands she has it in Paris next May.....
Well I told her that's was Ok with me providing we got down to somewhere warm where we could do some boating.
Well I checked out some of these bareboat charters out of Turkey and the prices were very good.
Places I looked at hiring the yacht were in the south, like Bodrum and Marmaris looked sensational.
Look like there are lots of little coves to pull into and spend the night drinking and eating at some little family owned, out of the way restaurant

I've not done this but 3 friends who did bareboat sail boat chartering recently on the coast of Turkey all came home thrilled with the experience; the beauty of the place, friendliness of the local people ashore, and the boating itself.

I've been aboard crewed charters in both Bodrum and Marmaris as a child. Spectacular days spent aboard varnished sailing vessels, eager and friendly crew diving for and serving freshly rock tenderized octopus in tomato sauce on deck. Snorkeling with spear gun and friends in gin clear Agean waters tucked into remote and starkly barren coves.
It's memorable, do it.

From the info I have gathered in recent weeks, I have discovered Turkey has experienced the pace of a booming economy in recent years and the coast line, it seems has seen huge investment in charter yachts and marinas.
The towns would have lost a bit of charm since you were there, Prj. It would have been amazing then.
I've read Marmaris has developed into a town which solely relies on the package group tourist such as the English, Russian and Scandinavian holiday makers who really want to hit the group dive scene, paragliding and party hard at night clubs and foreshore bars.
If we hire our bareboat from Marmaris we have to spend one night there just to experience the action.
Most of our trip however will be spent sailing off to find those little coves, far away from all.
