Happy Almost Spring to Cape Cod Whalers. I am getting a relatively old dock ready for the season and just cleaned and power washed off 20-years of grime, down to the pressure treated wood. I will finish off with all new TaylorMade bumpers and stainless steel hardware. I am looking for recommendations on [a protective finish] to use on the dock and ramp. The dock needs to withstand Cape Cod weather (in Nantucket Sound side off Parkers River in S. Yarmouth) from May 1 to November 1. I am not looking to change colors or stain, but to just protect the wood and extend the life of the dock. Appreciate advice. Thanks! |

Penofin for pressure treated wood. Not available over the counter here in the People's Republic, but you can get it mail order from Amazon among other places. All you'll find locally are water based products, which are total junk. Tim |

Use CPES from Smith & Co. can't be beat for protecting wood. Several places on the net you can get is or maybe your local chandelier. http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/product.do?part=38240& engine=adwords!6456&keyword=cold_cpes_2_gallon_kit_sitelink |
