I just received my new Wm. J. Mills & Co. console and 94-quart cooler cover, and it does [not] fit. The cover is too tight. The cover fits fairly well in the rear but it won't stretch over the cooler in the front. The boat is a 1990 Outrage with a standard Montauk-style console with the Montauk-style cooler cleats on the floor. I'm thinking that perhaps the cover was made for a 72-quart cooler instead, but, since I don't have one to try, I can't be certain. Does anyone have a cover matching this description on their boat? If so, can you email me a picture? I bought this cover from the Mills winter clearance sale and may have trouble returning it, so, if switching to a 72-quart cooler will make for an easy fix, then so be it. I just happen to have OEM cushions for both size coolers. I also ordered an RPS seat cover from them, and it fit well, NOT snug like the console cover, so I'm thinking something is wrong. Any info would help--Thank you

You may not need any help. Since you already have the cushion for a 72-quart cooler you can figure out the approximate dimensions. If it looks like it might fit, buy a 72-quart cooler, don't remove any stickers, and check it out. If it still doesn't fit, return the cooler and contact Mills. It may have been a closeout but they sold you something you can't use.rich |

I went searching for a 72-quart cooler today and found none. I agree that if the items was billed as a standard Montauk/Outrage console with 94-quart cooler then it should fit or be replaced, regardless of any clearance sale. but in the last few years I have become very wary of getting a positive resolve in situations like this. We shall just have to wait and see. |

My experience with canvas from Mills made from their patterns: everything needs to be about 1/8-inch longer. For some reason, they really love a tight fit. |

Well I found a cooler and still not even close. I think the Outrage and Montauk consoles all measured the same but maybe they were a tad bit taller on the outrage. The dimension from front to back seems a bit off to me as both size coolers need to be pushed against the console out of the chicks. I hope they are willing to work with me or I'm out the price of this cover. |

Well I just spoke with mills and it is their opinion that the tilt helm is causing the problem. Does anyone have a dimension of the distance from the face of the console to the outside face of the wheel. I think my setup may be 4" proad of the standard setup. |

Can you post a picture of your helm unit so we can see just which one you have? |

I can get a photo, but I really need the dimensions from a standard 1987-1990 montauk/ console with cable steering as this is what the template was made from for the mills cover. I have a teleflex seastar tilt helm H5741 now and it protrudes away from the mounting face of the console quite a bit more than the standard setup. |
