I want to install an Airmar P66 transducer on my 1998 Boston Whaler Conquest 21. [What is] the transom angle on that boat?

You can purchase an angle finder at Home Depot about $10.00, its made by Johnson I beleive, yellow plastic, square in size about 5 inches by 5 inches, with a degree wheel and pointer, Place one end on the transom and just read the pointer, I think its about 12 degrees...good luck

Isn't the transducer adjustable???

The AIRMAR P66 transducer mounting bracket is not adjustable for the transom angle. Airmar supplies a wedge plate with the P66 which can be interposed between the mount and the transom. There are three possibilities for installation:

--no wedge, which fits most boats;

--wedge to increase angle to transom; or

--wedge installed in opposite manner to decrease angle to transom.

I anticipate you will find that the installation without the wedge plate will work.

According to Boston Whaler the transom angle for my 1998 Boston Whaler 21' Conquest is 15 degrees.

I ended up installing the transducer without the wedge.

Do you have pictures and procedures that you used to do the installation?

I also have a P66 waiting to be installed on a 1998 Outrage 17. I was shocked to see how large it is compared to what I took off, perhaps a lowrance.

I followed the instructions that came with the transducer. It is quite simple. Airmar provides a template, which you tape to the transom and it shows you where to drill the holes.
