I think I already know the answer but I was wondering if Sunbrella material is a much better product then the rest. Most companies want about 3 to 4 hundred dollars for a cover for my 18ft Outrage but in the Sunbrella material its over 7 hundred. I was just wondering if its worth buying the Sunbrella or just buy the cheaper one and in a couple years buy another cheap one it comes to about the same. The quality thinking in me says buy Sunbrella what do you think?

I've been using Sunbrella covers since 1985 or so. I've tried less costly fabrics always to my regret. The fabric is made by Raven Mills. This year I bought a cover using another Raven Mills fabric which is slightly less expensive and was recommended by a friend as a better material for UV protection. Time will tell.

Carver Industries has been my cover source for the last 20 years. Their web site is at www.carvercovers.com and it lists their retailers. They don't sell to the public. They make semi-custom covers for many Boston Whaler models and the fit is remarkable for those that I've purchased.

Although Sunbrella is their most expensive cover material it also has the longest warranty.

Was at the Amish canvas shop the other day and Andy said Sunbrella price keeps going up, up and higher.

I have a Sunbrella cover and bimini for my 06 Montauk 170 and have been VERY pleased with the way it's held up so far...

I have had my Outrage 22 since fall of 2007, if my memory serves me. It had a Sunbrella cavas t-top with front and side curtains when I bought it. I have no idea how old the fabric was when I bought the boat.

Though it is showing its age, I believe the Sunbrella cavas will continue to serve me well for at least a couple more years. My boat is a trailer boat, so the cavas endures freeway speeds during the fishing season. Towing is probably one of the toughest things for boat canvas to handle, except possibly harsh sun.
