In 1988 I purchased an Outrage 18, my second whaler after a brief stint with a 1979 Montauk. I ran that Outrage 18 until 1992, when I purchased a 23 Walkaround which I ran for four years, until purchasing an OUTRAGE 28 which I kept until 2011. Meanwhile the Outrage 18 was used by a brother, a niece, a daughter, and a few others. Due to circumstances, that Outrage 18 has finally found its way back to me. I have been without a boat since selling the 28--needless to say that sucked. It is a tribute to Whaler construction that the little whaler arrived at Atlantic Marine Wrightsville Beach with nothing more than a little cosmetic work needed, as well as a re-power and electrical stuff having been passed around like an orphan. I have now re-joined the Whaler family, and it feels great. As a nod to inflation I will end up spending 80-percent of the original purchase price, but this is the last go-round. With fuel more than $4-per-gallon, and my old bones not needing any offshore pounding, this should be just about perfect for me. Spanish Mackeral beware.

Excellent story. I have never owned an Outrage 18, but I would not be surprised if some day in the future I will. They're great boats.
