As the Education Officier for the Fort Wayne Power Squadron I have a vested interest in helping "get the word out" about this, besides, it looks like it's going to be a long, cold, dark, winter for us in the northern states. This will give us something to do. I have taken the classroom version of the USPS Weather Course and it is outstanding. "United States Power Squadrons' "Weather for Boaters" is now Online. The United States Power Squadrons, in partnership with the BoatUS Foundation, has just released the online version of Weather for Boaters: A Boater’s Guide to Forecasting Winds and Storms. This is the Basic Weather and Forecasting seminar, implemented online in a fully interactive manner and renamed to appeal to non-USPS boaters. Although the classroom versions of our USPS seminars are the most beneficial, the online versions are available to you if a classroom version is not offered in your area. As a special rollout promotion, Weather for Boaters is being offered at $29.95 through the month of September. We are also including our other online seminars—Partner in Command and Boating on Rivers, Locks and Lakes—in this $29.95 promotion throughout September. Go to usps.org/edonline for more information." |
