I would like to share some photos with the followers of this site. I'm not interested in creating a web page. I have several images on Photo Bucket but find the site to be a little clunky. My photos are on an old Canon digital camera and have to be loaded onto my computers with a cable if that matters. Thank you. Butch |

I use Photobucket and Flickr. Photo bucket is easiest to make separate folders with different pics in each and to get links to your pictures for different uses (except for continuouswave). Flickr has some features that are fun to play with but I found uploading and arranging into folders somewhat cumbersome. Photobucket still won't let you search for a user name like "fishgutz", but you can Google: "fishgutz photobucket" and find me that way. |

I really like Google's Picassa desktop application for managing photos. It syncs with google + very easily for sharing |

Fishgutz - I've not had problems linking to my Photobucket account in the past. Below is a link to the Whaler group rather wet 2014 North Channel run: http://s10.photobucket.com/user/dfmcintyre/slideshow/ North%20Channel%202014?sort=3 Don |

Here's the trick to create the link I made above: You have to type the following, exactly as shown: Go to your photobucket page you want to create the link to, and copy the link from your browsers address bar. Now go to the thread in CW forum you want to place the link in and create a new thread. At the appropriate area type the following: [url] then paste the photobucket link and end the line with [url] The trick is you have to use brackets and no spaces between the [url] and the link. You might have to try it a few times before success. Regards - Don |

SmugMug, but I am a bit biased since I work with them. The accounts are not free, the least expensive being $40/year, but for that you get unlimited hosting, a beautiful website, easy sharing, privacy, and no advertisements or spam. With the $60/year plan you can customize your website http://www.smugmug.com/ I have shared photos of my whaler in a private gallery that is only accessible via a direct link. There are no other links in the gallery back to my main SmugMug page. http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-4jDhh/i-VPsxHxT |

dfmcintyre, I know how to do that. It's just that Photobucket doesn't already have the prefix and suffix (that must be used for this site) on the prewritten links. Sometimes late at night and after having a few (several) drinks, I can't remember how to do it. This is helpful. http://continuouswave.com/ubb/faq.html |
