The SUPER SPORT 15 I have been working on all year has a Bimini top with 48-inch slides on the gunwales. It has plastic slides that the main supports attach to. I wonder if some type of stop is necessary to keep the slide in place when the top is up and the boat is underway. I know the nylon straps help steady [the Bimini top] but I can imagine the slide pivot point changing under rough seas. Someone with this set up help me with what hardware should be used. Thanks, Tom

Tom I'm not familiar with the slides you are talking about as my Bimini top has fixed hinge point on my 150 Montauk. I assume you have a T-type or an inverted-T-type track as used on sailing masts to hoist the sails or set blocks in place. A good marine chandlery or canvas supply stores have these. Inverted'T' type http://www.sailrite.com/ Sail-Track-Stop-Flat-75?gclid=COeg37GW5MECFQmCaQodBz8A-Q# or 'regular' "T" type http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/product.do?part=151163& engine=adwords!6456&keyword=product_ad&gclid=CIyh57WX5MECFUNgMgod5FEAiA
Please note that these are just sample links please search for size, type, and material you require.

The down pressure from the straps keeps the bimini rails from sliding in the track. I suppose that you could really lubricate with silicone or some other dry lubricant and get things sliding easily enough to cause the top to move when under way, but I have never had the bases sliding in the track.
