David Hart sent me a link to a really funny comedy show hosted by Jerry Seinfeld in which a Boston Whaler 13-footer plays a major role. Dave sends me a lot of links, but this is the best one he ever sent me. You HAVE TO WATCH THIS movie. It is funny, and immediately connected to Boston Whaler boats. http://comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com/ jimmy-fallon-the-unsinkable-legend-part-1 It will make you smile for 20 minutes. Thank David for this enjoyment. |

I've been following all his episodes, this is now my favorite. Is it a good resto, or one of the 40th anniversary models? |

To be fair, I got the link from Jeff's Boston Whaler search site on Facebook. Jim didn't post the link for the second episode. [Part-1 automatically leads to Part-2. There is a link to Part-2 on Part-1's page.--jimh] Look at all the GoPro cameras stuck all over the cars and boats. |

Fun to watch. Looks like Long Island, NY. Southside? Great South Bay area? I grew up with my 1963 Boston Whaler Sport with 33 Johnson on the north shore of Great Peconic Bay. Too bad the 'vette wasn't Whaler blue. JimP |

If I'm not mistaken, the Whaler is a 1998 40th Anniversary Edition. Looks great! - Chris |

Yes, I think the boat is an Anniversary Model. I wonder if it really is Jerry Seinfeld's own boat, or if it was just a set up for the show. They go to lunch in Montauk, New York, another tie-in to Boston Whaler. |

Interesting! Notice the chase cars, and the chase boat, too...good stuff. |

The Vette had Kentucky plates but the Land Rover and the Whaler had NY registration. I wonder whether they got the Vette from the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green? |

Just yesterday I had a very rare opportunity to take a break from the challenges of running a business and raising two small children to go out in my Outrage 18 with a very close friend of over 30 years. We did something that when we younger was as commonplace as eating breakfast; we went for a boat ride. We live in an area located between two inlets, and we did as we did many times many years ago when we were younger; we had a blast. We went out the northern inlet and raced towards the southern inlet. The conditions were wonderful: warm and sunny with a slight breeze. There was a two-foot to four-foot chop out of the Southeast providing a great angle to point the Outrage into. Since we were without our families we were able to run at wide open throttle--most of the way spending a lot of time out of the water. The two-cycle V6 ran perfectly and we both felt as if we were transported back 25 years ago to our teenage years. Watching this video today it came to me that these well-designed and well-built little boats have provided similar experiences to many people. It isn't often that I feel connected to people like Jimmy and Jerry--after all they are famous very wealthy entertainers--but they were enjoying an old Whaler in a similar fashion to the way my friend and I were yesterday. This is a great testament to the legacy of a classic Boston Whaler and the childlike joy they can provide for generations to come. Wonderful. |

That was a great segment. I felt like I was the lucky third wheel... Great little Whaler, I was impressed that Jimmy could taste the salt on his lips... Thanks for sharing the video. I'm now a fan of www.ComediansInCarsGettingCoffee.com JimH, Thanks for another wonderful year of CW... The site gets better and better!!! Merry Christmas to all and a Healthy and Happy New Year... I saw it this weekend too. The part I love is Jerry Seinfeld is so wealthy, he could easily afford a 420 Outrage, but he sensibly adores a classic 13 Sport. He held onto the Land Rover from when his comedy show was still on the air. |

Video was taken in Easthampton, N.Y. ("The Hamptons")where Seinfeld owns a home. Looks like the Whaler was launched in Napeague Harbor located west of Montauk on the North side of the South Fork of Long Island. |

I've been a fan of this internet show for a while since I discovered it due to the marvelous cars he uses to pick-up the other comedians, either from his own vast collection of classic cars or borrowed ones. This is a great show and even better now that we know he loves old Boston Whalers. |

This was a great one beautiful place car and boat. But Jim I have to correct something, that is a 1956 Corvette, not a 1963. Don |

The 40th Anniversary plate can be seen on the console in one of the shots. I read an article about the Corvette being one that was recently brought back to life from the Peter Max collection in NY for this episode. |

A 1956--that is really an old classic. |
