Santa left a sweet fishing station by Ray Martin under the tree this year. Looks great and I can't wait to get on the Outrage and on the water!

I was in a Secret Santa gift exchange, and, as luck would have it, my Secret Santa was Bill Gates. He got me a Boston Whaler 345 CONQUEST. I had only contributed a $25 gift card from Barnes and Noble in return, so I felt really badly about this.

Don't feel bad but did you mention to Bill if he could swing a deal to swap for Etecs? I'm thinking triple gen two Etec 300's in the white and grey trim would be appropriate don't you think? I'm sharing your dream and its perfectly normal.

Jim, I think we were in the same Secret Santa gift exchange. You got Bill Gates and I got Warren Buffet. Warren got me a Mainship 390. Elsa loves the roomy head and large galley.

Jeff Zuckerman got me a Hinkley picnic boat, a Bermuda 40, a BW 15 and a trust to maintain them. Wow, can't wait to spend the summer in the North Channel and go south in the winter.

Martyn--re the VERADO engines: don't worry. I have a plan. I am asking Santa for next Christmas to bring me E-TEC 74-degree V6 engines. I am going to remove the VERADO engines and re-gift them. I know just the perfect recipient.

On a more serious side, my son gave me a neat pair of Maui Jim glasses to replace a recently broken pair. He gave me the previous pair some 8-10 years ago.

Kathy and I gave each other a month at a condo in Florida, with a Whaler, does that count?

I got a replacement Ritchie Compass for my Revenge 22 WT, the old one leaked and gave up the ghost a couple of years ago.....

Oh yea, as of April 1st(no April Fools) I have the rest of my life off so I'll have plenty of time for Whalering!

Happy New Year,

Pat
