I can't believe it. A few days ago I received the Whaler magazine in the post. I think I requested it about 3 of 4 years ago, I was really shocked, it was a real treat getting get. I now think life has gotter be on the mend now.

Last year was one I would like to forget.
Mid last year my wife and I took off to Europe to see the major cities of France, Italy, Greece and Turkey and evntually charter a beautiful 50 foot Beneteau in Southern Turkey.

What was to be the holiday of a life time started horribly wrong when my wife experienced an uncomfortable flight over.

She suffered back pain most of the several weeks we were away. Unfortunately, there was a language barrier when ever we tried to explain what was wrong with her. They seem reluctant to offer any strong pain killers which didn't help.

Well, he morning we arrived back to Melbourne we were nearing home when I heard a cry from my wife who was walking slowly behind as I managed our lugage.
I turned around to see she had collapsed on the road and was shocked to see her arm and leg were in spasm.

Fortunately I rushed her off to the best hospital in town.
Just as well because they found cancer had severly eaten away her lower spine, lumps were also seen in her lungs and brain. At point in time I gathered my boys wondered how many days were left before Barb left us.

The Doctors eventually discovered Barb has a gene which is now drug treatable, for how long we are not sure, however all is progressing well so far.

Next week, our boys are sailing their Dragon in the state tiles. I am taking a few days off work and plan to take our 21' Conquest for it's first run in along time. Hopefully the weather will be kind and we have carm seas and we can get some good photos of the racing.

I hope the best for your family. Its upsetting when we know something isn't right and we seek help from a professional only to get caught up in doctor perception. Your wife probably is tough and the doctor could not see through it. Its really good news about the drug and I hope she can find some relief and win this battle. Indeed she is strong it will help a great deal.
