I am thinking about relocating to Boca or Delray or Jupiter, Florida. How difficult to find is a 12-month lease for a slip in these three areas? I appreciate your comments.--Gerry

I work in Jupiter and live near by. There are slips everywhere, I've never tried to lease one but I'm sure they're available if you've got the cash. Jupiter inlet can be really really nasty on bad days, several deaths have occurred there by boats coming in or out on bad days. Palm Beach inlet is much wider and deeper and much nicer. If you want to come and go regardless of the weather, look closer to PB inlet. Check lake park marina, some slips there and very close to pb inlet. Also find peanut island on the map and check the marina just west of it. Used to be called Rivera beach marina i think, not sure what it's called now.

The [intracoastal] is now all idle zones so the trip from Jupiter to palm beach inside is over an hour. Used to be like 20 minutes when I was a kid. I'm not that familiar with Boca water ways, between the self entitled rich people and closer proximity to the 3rd world country called Miami, I try to avoid it. ;)

I have a similar question about rental housing in Miami - Keys area in Florida. I am in the market for a rental house/vacation house to rent much of the year and maybe occupy for a month or so each year. Mostly Key Largo to Marathon... Has anyone done this? Can some locals give me some info? I've been told by a broker who moved his parents from South Florida that the real estate is rising in price. feel free to contact me off the forum as well. email in the profile is good.

Thanks for any input.

Steve
