frontier	posted 03-12-2015 09:12 PM ET (US)         After attending many boat shows and seeing thousands of boats over the years, the Boston Whaler classic 3-piece rubrail system really stands the test of time. What a beautiful, functional, simple design. [I] just got back from a boat show, today, where a dealer was showing Everglades boats--very nice looking boats--but [I] could not believe the rubrail. A metal insert in the center of the rubrail was screwed every six inches or so, and looked unfinished, easily damaged, and dented, like it needs a black rubber insert.
jimh	posted 03-12-2015 11:27 PM ET (US)             After your 25-year-old Boston Whaler boat smacks into a piling, the vinyl black insert pops completely out of the plastic insert, and the plastic insert, made brittle by the sun, cracks into ten pieces, that metal rub rail on the Everglades Boats boat may look better to you.
