Hello all. [After looking for several months, I] found [an OUTRAGE 18] with a Yamaha F150 that has only 46-hours. [To buy this boat would be a] no-brainer, except there is definitely water in the foam. [I] spotted brownish water beads seeping out of small dings in the gel coat in several places. [The] waterline on bottom paint looks like it was raised at least an inch in the stern. [The] hull tapped-out OK. [The] wood in [the] transom appears solid, despite drain tubes crumbling. [The boat has been operated in] saltwater. [An offer of] $11,000 buys her. [Should I] buy it and fish the heck out of it? Or, run away?

I have seen a brownish liquid oozing out of the small screw fasteners holes in the hulls of some Boston Whaler boats that have been meticulously operated and cared for-- boats that people would OOH and AAH about and that are museum quality examples of a Boston Whaler OUTRAGE. I think that a brown ooze may be some sort of uncured resin. |
