We had purchased this rig used about 6 months ago and my wife said that she liked the fact that it didnt have a windscreen on the console. After being out on it a few cold evenings, she's reconsidering. Does anyone have one of these windshields for sale? Thanks, Brian |

Check with Mick (runpasthefence) I know he has a brand new one he may part with. http://continuouswave.com/cgi-bin/ubbmisc.cgi?action=getbio& UserName=runpasthefence |

Tom Clark might have one as well. He had them made a few years back for a bunch of us. Have you tried the place in Ft Pierce? |

I have not bought from this place but it looks like a pretty good deal. http://www.updplastics.com/ |

Wayne, That was the same place that I had found after posting to look for one. 145.00 for a clear one and 158.00 for tinted, includes the rubber mounting grommets. This seems pretty fair. Is that in line or does someone have a great deal on one somewhere? Those are the standard 1/4". They also sell the heavy duty thick ones for about $40.00 more. |

No that is fair. I like the clear better for night since the aftermarket is much darker than OEM. I think we paid $125 about 6 years ago when we had them made so $145 is fine and Whaler gets over $200 I believe. |

Yeah, I was thinking of the clear as well for night cruising. Much easier to see all of the freakin crab pots that they drop all over the Indian River. You should see it. It's like a mine field. |

I have a clear windshield from a 1984 Montauk that is pretty well scratched up and will take considerable sanding/buffing to restore. It's yours for a 12-pack of Bud plus shipping costs. |

Either go for newt's offer or just put a piece of straight plexiglass (use 1/2 inch) on the front of the console. If you are like me it will extend a few inches above the rail, and be secured with a length of heavy shock cord tied across the rail. Use new well nuts (available from West Marine as well as many other places) to secure to the console. I ran my Montauk for years without the windshield until I repowered and realized the new motor was far quieter than the wind rushing thru my ears. |
