A forum member built a deck extension for his 18' Outrage that provides a level surface for one or two people to stretch out comfortably in the forward portion of the boat for camping aboard under a shelter or canvas. That member was kind enough, after determining that he would no longer use this, to give it to me for free.
I have since developed a bit more elaborate deck system for my 18' Outrage, and it is time for me to pay that favor forward.
This is built from 3/4 inch plywood, and is stained and varnished to look quite nice. It includes non-skid pads to help you keep your footing when moving around the boat. It extends from the aft edge of the anchor locker to the OEM position of the console. It fits over your existing OEM cooler cleats, and contains a new set of cooler cleats and shock cords to hold down your cooler (albeit about 3 inches higher) for use during the day. I've slept aboard my 18' Outrage for many nights on this platform and it is perfect for this use.
The edges of the wood are treated with "soft" velcro to protect your gelcoat.
E-mail me at the address in my profile if you are interested.
Can arrange delivery in narrow stretch between Chicago and SW Michigan, or "at my discretion" in Michigan (i.e. when I'm on my way up north for something else). I am also pretty regularly making the run along the I-94 corridor to Detroit - so along that route is fine as well...otherwise, we can arrange a Saturday pick-up.
Thanks for your interest.
