I installed this on my 1970 13 ft Sport, then added the Mini-Jacker and had to go with a longer cable. It has never been on the water. This is the correct length if using the standoff bracket or if you have a 20" transom and need no add-ons. Located in Sacramento area, Ca. I'd like $30 plus shipping. email is gpodad@surewest.net

Mister S,
If you are converting to Teleflex from the original pulley steering my experience with the conversion includes:
1)If not using the TFlex stand-off bracket the steering rod will contact the cutout in the transom if passed through the engine torque-tube on a modern outboard. Or, at least it did on my '03 Honda 20HP.
2)The 9 ft cable is the correct length if it is routed through the same holes in the wood side pieces the pulley cables passed through after removing the roller (I dismounted the console to do this) and hugging the boat contour back to the transom.

I have not, as yet received your email.
