I just purchased this two months ago as a glorified jon boat/2nd boat/work boat/etc. It is a Guardian hull and was in commercial service with the DNR for many years. It is not perfect cosmetically but seems solid as a rock. The Yamaha runs great and I have seen 42mph on the handheld gps. I just put a new Turbo stainless 3 blade prop on there and purchased a new (2 months old) custom aluminum trailer for $1900. The previous owner told me that the old fuel tank developed a leak and they emptied and capped it and added a 20 gallon plastic tank under the leaning post seat. It works fine for me and I am pretty sure that you could fit a 28 gallon Moeller tank in the same space. The 130 is pretty efficient so 20 gallons provides ample inshore range. I also have a quote from a local expert to pull the center deck up and replace the existing in hull tank with a new aluminum tank for approx. $1,000. There are no electronics - just a newer digital Yamaha tach, bilge pump, battery switch, and running lights. It really does not get any simpler than this rig and it is next to indestructible (the rub rail looks like it came off of tug boat!). This is reliable, inexpensive, safe, and fun inshore/near shore transportation. Call 843-345-6060. I have pictures but don't know how to post them. I am happy to email them to anyone interested. $5,900.

The boat is in Mt. Pleasant, SC (next to Charleston). It is on a trailer next to my house and easy to see. Let me know if you want to come by for a look. |
