I would like to install a lager fuel tank in my Super Sport 15. Does anyone have some suggestions (composite, aluminum, capacity, connectors, etc)? Thanks.

Pete, give us some more information:

- what's your current setup, as far as fuel tank(s) and battery location?
- how much fuel do you want to carry?
- are you willing to give up some or all of the storage compartment?
- how is the trim - do you want to move weight forward?

I am a fan of portable, rather than permanent, tanks, for cost and ease of replacement reasons. But I do think a custom-fitted aluminum or stainless tank would give you the most capacity in a given space - pricey, though! If you have already moved weight forward and/or have a smaller motor it looks like a up to a 26 gallon Moeller Topside tank will fit in the rear well.

I raised the interior of my 15SS by 2 inches, for additional comfort and storage and also to allow me to fit a 15-gallon Moeller tank under the front thwart, if and when I feel the need for it. Right now, I'm happy with the conventional pair of 6 gallon red tanks in the rear well - inexpensive, and you can just take the empty to the gas station and skip paying the premium on marine gas.

Two additional comments after re-reading your original message:

1) perhaps you were actually looking to install a beer tank:-)?

2) this discussion might get more action in Repairs / Mods.
