No Whaler relevancy here. I hope jimh is gracious enough to allow this: My Dad was a life long sailer. It was his passion in life. He passed away 10/27/09. We had a family conference call and have decided to list the boat for 225k. The boat is located in Beverly, MA at the Jubilee Yacht Club. She is in immaculate condition and is equipped with every option available. On 3/1/2010 we will list the boat with Bob Rogers the FINNGULF dealer located in Connecticutt. At this pount we will be paying a commission. We are not going to spend a great amount of time or money marketing the boat on our own. It is a very specialized item and clearly a bad market to sell I have a flyer I can mail or e-mail if anyone is interested. Any leads are appreciated. |

Phillip, Sorry for your loss and good luck selling the Finngulf. They are beautiful boats. I had a friend back in NJ where I was running sailing charters who had one. I think it was a 33' model. The workmanship is incredible on those boats. I believe they are maid in Finland or Sweden if I remember correctly. They sail like a dream. Good Luck, I know it must be hard to part with something your Dad was probably very proud of. Joe |

[urlhttp://www.finngulf.com/[/url] Thank you for the kind words. My two brothers who live in the area were very helpful in getting Dad's boat in the water this past summer. He made it two Thursday night regattas. The room erupted in applause when his boat was announced at the end of the race. I also was able to sail with him twice in 2009. Yes, the boat is made in Finland. It is compared to a Swan. |

http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/pl_boat_detail.jsp?&units=Feet& id=2126740&lang=en&slim=broker&&hosturl=rodgersyachtsales&& ywo=rodgersyachtsales& I don't want to jinx it, but it looks like Dad's boat is sold. Pending a successful sea trail; if anyone sees a pristine Navy Blue Finngulf named Blue Finn sailing on Lake Champlain from Burlington, Vermont the boat sold. The buyer is getting a heck of a clean decked out boat at a heck of a price. Somebody please shoot me if I ever purchase a boat that needs bottom paint. We bought one gallon of "shark gray" Interlux bottom paint at West Marine for $220. My brother and I spent yesterday and today sanding, prepping, and painting the bottom. My arms felt like they were going to fall off. My Dad was a big time racer and prided himself on one of the smoothest bottoms in the fleet. We paid $450 to have the navy blue topsides buffed out. Our goal is sell a boat which is turn key, clean, and pristine to create a whole lot of good will with our buyer. Win Win. |

I am not a sailboater type- but this is one of the most beautiful boats I have ever seen. Doug Vazquez |

Your dad had good taste in sailboats. Beautiful yacht and it looks fairly sporty as well. |

Thanks for the kind words. My Dad always had a sailboat. This is actually his second FinnGulf (he was from Germany). His first FinnGulf (Goldwatch) which he traded in for this one in 2004 (my misprint- she is a 2004) is in Manchester, England now. Back when the dollar was weak and the Euro strong; buyers would come from Europe and look at boats in the USA. For about $19,000 you can have such a boat shipped to Europe in a dry dock ship. Blue Finn is billed as a racer cruiser. You could cross the ocean, but it would be a rough ride. She is a Corvette. She points very well into the wind and can turn on a dime. |
