I'm new to Boston Whaler, but have done a bunch of research of late and I think a classic 17' Montauk would be ideal. A 15 footer might do if the price was right. I hope I'm not expecting too much, but I prefer one that has not seen salt water, and I also lean towards a four stroke, but that's not mandatory if the excellent condition of the target boat outweighs my concerns in that regard. I just sold a 22' deck boat because it was too big to just go out on the lake by myself, and too cumbersome to go down our adjoining river. We live on a lake in NC and the boat will be in the water at our dock about half the year, then towed 200 yards to my back yard for the off season. I really like the eclectic, vintage character of the Montauk. I'm kind of partial to older sports cars and recently sold my BRG 2003 Mini Cooper "S". These older Boster Whalers are of that unusual ilk to me.
