That is one clean boat! Good luck with the sale.

I have a question if you don't mind - the out rigger holders. I am amazed that the hand rails and base screws are all that that are needed to support the outriggers. I know it's an original item, but do they work well like that?

alfred,

Thank you for the kind words. The boat is a beauty.

The outrigger base mounts to the rail and to the console. it is rock solid. That's one of the many special features which make "classic" Boston Whalers so unique and desireable.

I am confident that she'll make her new owner very happy.

That is a gorgeous looking 20. That 200 must make it fly. What does it top out at? Are you the original owner? Has it ever been restored?

Thank you for the compliments. The boat is fast--she hits the mid 40's easily with a moderate load. I am not the original owner. She is a part of my family's fleet of Whalers. She has not been "restored," but she has enjoyed a serious of regular updates and maintenance. That is reflected in her current excellent overall condition.

That is a great Whaler in great shape.
If I did not already own a 22' I would purchase that one.
I think for the shape it is in your price is too low.
Compaired to the average used boat, yours is in MUCH better shape. Just a thought.

I have never had the joy of meeting Paul in person but, I have bought items from him before, inspected the 24 Outrage he bought from here in the Detroit area as well as spent a lot of time on the phone with him. He has shared tons of images of his and his and his family's Whalers with me over the years and I must say, if I was buying a used Whaler I would want it from the Mucciolo fleet. The love for the brand, pride in their vessels and over all no expense spared quality shines through in every they own. To go with that, Paul is one of the nicest stand up guys I have met on the board. If you are at all interested in this boat but are worried about possibly purchasing it sight unseen, I can say you have nothing to worry about. I have no doubt it will meet all of your expectations.

I agree, the boat is really underpriced, at least in the Midwest market. If it were mine, I would not sell it that cheaply. Nice Montauks can bring a price like that (just ask Jeff!)

Great work, Paul, you guys have done a beautiful job with the boat and all the right accessories. With a Mills Flying Top system, that boat would make a real nice Great Lakes cruiser, with tons of room in the bow under the Forward Shelter.

That is one terrific looking package, and is very reasonably priced, especially considering this owner's reputation for attention to detail. There is a big investment in canvas and cushions alone, to say nothing of the great condition of the boat and motor. An aluminum trailer is icing on the cake. This one won't last long.

It has been under contract since Thrusday with others lined up. I would say you could add gone to your going...going.

Thank you for the interest. The boat is sold.

Since Paul's boat is now sold, it's probably OK to mention this other 20' Whaler I know of. No connection to me, other than it's owned by the wife of a Client who recently passed away. He was a lifelong boater, with several larger boats.

The boat is a 1988 20' Temptation Whaler Drive, with single Yamaha 200 of same year, and very nice HD Eagle tandem trailer. Bought new, and used very little in Door County WI, all fresh water, and stored indoors. Has white bottom paint in average condition, but otherwise the boat is like new with glossy gelcoat and all original. I think she is asking 12K for it. She says the boat has a total of 200 hours on it.

If interested, I can steer you to the seller's Agent.

That is a fine boat, Larry. I saw it at Fish Creek Marine earlier this month when I was there. I've also seen it slipped at the Alibi Docks, next to Kevin Harlan's 170 for a couple summers in years past.

I know that forum member TransAm was looking for this exact model, and I emailed him the information a short while back. I don't believe he visits here regularly any longer.

Finally, this for sale article illustrates how quickly one must move to obtain a fine vessel at a fair price. I'd be surprised if Paul wasn't speaking with the new owner as soon at the day it was posted.

Anyone interested in this 20' Temptation should contact Fish Creek Marine, in Fish Creek WI. I don't have the phone number, but it should be easy to find. It's a very small shop.

I have seen the boat personally, and it looks really nice. Owner was a professional life long boater, who kept his boats in beautiful condition, among them a 54' Searay and 30' Dyer.
