I have an opportunity to get a 1972 ribbed side 21 outrage with a 1988 150 Johnson. The boat has the original trailer, the frames for the bimini and for the front cover, the wood looks in solid condition but needs to be refinished. The boat has bottom paint. It has been a freshwater boat its whole life and I would be purchasing from the second owner. It has the typical spider cracks but not too bad. He is willing to take 6K - is that fair, high, low? Thoughts? With a little work it would be a head turner for sure.

Thanks
Ben

Geographic location will play a little into it - West Coast vs East Coast etc. A ribside will command a little more than a smoothside in my opinion. Condition (particularly gelcoat) is really the key variable. Motor is 22 years old - so not a bunch of value there unless its real low hours or freshly rebuilt. Without seeing it or good pictures I would say that's an ok price based on it being a freshwater boat. I guess a long winded version of agreeing with Nick.

It's only money

Why not the Outrage 17 in NJ for $7500? Now that would be a sweet deal but ribbed sides are nice.

That's a 1995 Outrage 17 son...

Just my two cents worth. I bought mine here with trailer in West Palm Beach for 3500.00. Yes, I concidered this a great deal at the time but it's a boat that folks like me or you might like not everyone. Wasn't an easy sell here in Fla. I love Whalers of any sort besides the Rage so it was easy for me. Good luck but as a member stated. Best to price this without the motor as an issue.Capt.T

My brother-in-law bought his on Cape Cod for $2250 with a 1988 Evinrude 150 and a newer galvanized EZ Loader trailer.

It better be in good shape for $6000.

I will say what the others are alluding to. It is high unless the boat is immaculate, and all original.
