I am third over of this hull. It was brought to new england about 9 years ago. Spend most of its life on lake Michigan. I ran it for 1 year with old Mercs before the repower. Use for fishing Buzzards and Cape Cod Bay. Outstanding boat. There are plenty of threads on this site describing the quality of this hull.

Don't have a trailer. Boat is at Eagle Marine, Sagamore MA.

A very nice 27 and well priced. Good luck with your sale. Do you have some performance numbers you can post. Thanks

a few numbers

-running 4 bladed props

3,500rpm. 32mph. 18gph, combined (cruising speed)
3,900rpm. 38-40mph. 24gph, combined

-info from the icommand guages is measured at the injectors and very accurate.

Max speed about 52mph with sides on. higher without. Never spent alot of time trying to max out speed. I'm sure there is more to be had with different props but I like the handling and low end of the four blades. Excellent in the rough north winds on Cape Cod Bay.

As discussed before, the E-TEC's don't use much oil. I was using about 1 gallon per engine per fill up (171 gallons). Amazingly little.

It's a solid boat. Forced to sell :(

Thanks for the numbers. Any 27 going over 50 mph is doing well. I am considering 4 blade props myself. It seems you picked up over 10 mph when repowering from your previous Merc 225 2-strokes.That is a very good repower.

Did you use a bracket or locate 25in E-Tecs for your repower?

I used a bracket. It sits on the transom like an upside down "U". It is bolded through itself and transom. You can see it in some of the pics. I found that with the mercs (25 inch shafts) the cavitation plate was too high, and it did cavitate in sharp turns and rough seas, particularly following seas. The E-TECS are 30 inch shafts, lifted 4 inches, which puts the cavitation plate spot on (a 26" mount). I have had not issues with cavitation with this set up. If you are looking to repower a 27' I would definitely look at doing something like this. It really benefits the handling of the hull, and its never a bad idea to add some strength a transom holding 500hp.

The issue of the 4 bladed props has been well discussed here. With this hull I found they would pop the boat up on a plane much faster than 3 blades. With 5 people and a full 171 gallons, as well as a 55 gallon live well and all the tuna gear, the engines didn't struggle. Another benefit was in really bad weather the boat could hold a plane at 18mph without falling off. Great for when the seas get above about 6' and you can't run fast. Depending on where you live it might be a good choice.

and yes, the re power is much faster
