Thanks Sam, I've seen the new rails offered by Seciality Marine and others, all around $300.00 plus shipping. I was hoping somone would have a pair laying around I could take of their hands for less cash than the new ones. I'll go that route if I have to, they do look great. I'll keep looking for a couple weeks. Thanks, HH |

Hey, I went ahead and bought the new side rails from Specialty Marine, I'm glad I did, they look great. I did a dry fit today, I think I'm clear on the instalation. Could someone post some good photo's of side rails on their 13', so I can be sure. Thanks, HH |

I have a 1960 13, hull #710 which never had rails. For my two young kids, I wanted something for them to grab while underway and went with 4 nine inch long stainless steel curved grab rails mounted to the outside edge of each seat. They look great and work even better for holding on with an outside hand. I can send pictures if you wish. I do not remember the company which produced them, but can find out with little effort. Found them on EBay after searching Stainless Steel Grabrails Dave |

Dave, sounds like a good set-up, I thought about doing somthing like that, but I like the look of the original SS side rails. They get installed tomorrow. HH |

HH/DPDASH, I still have some snow up here in Ottawa area, but will pull back the cover in the shed to get some pictures. I have side rails from another boat which awaits restoration, but with the one I currently use, I find them too tall and in the way of my right elbow and the engine controls combined with the need to quickly get to the waterline while dealing with landing a muskie for a clean live release compounding the situation. Similar to not wanting to have any bow rails, as I use the oars very often. The side rails also make quickly grabbing the oars more difficult. DASH, I will send you a shot or two of the boat prior to the installation of the grab handles and try to send another with them this weekend. Dave |

I have a set that I was not going to reinstall. Do most people use these while underway to hold on to? They seem to be a tripping device while climbing in and out to me... |

Thanks. Powergrove, I recently bought a new pair. I have a thread in repairs/mods concerning the installation. Maybe you have some helpfull insight. As for holding on to them while underway, I have the SS steering wheel but passengers have to dig their finger nails into the seat bottoms. Thanks HH |
