we have a 1968 boston whaler for sale with trailer and 50 hp 1994 Honda motor. Motor needs some work. When looking up serial number on my boat 3A1688 it comes up as a 1970 Katama,
the boat is in good condition, side console, blue interior
it is located in dennis mass and is garaged. Looking for best price. I have some pictures but i dont know how to load them up on this site

What kind of work does the engine need?

water got into one of the cylinders on the motor. that cylinder would need to be replaced

Hi, I think a good idea to post what you are asking, You gave me the asking price through my other email but I will leave that up to you. Just think it will save you and others time.

thanks for the suggestion. It has been hard determining a fair price for the seller and buyer. The boat needs to be sold as a package. the hull is in great condition and the motor as far a i know only needs that one thing fixed. I was told 10,000 by a dealer for the whole thing, but i do realize that the motor needs work. My price is 5,500.

Since you asked for the best price....With engine toast(needs total rebuild if not seized and crank is still OK) I would guesstimate about half of the $5500 is what she will fetch if boat is in very good condition.

The hull is in great shape, I saw it yesterday. And it has a nice trailer. Ask him to email some pictures to you. Maybee someone can help him with posting photo's, I don't know how. Im not convinced the engine is damaged internaly. Looks great outside and under the hood. I was hoping to buy just the boat and trailer as I have an engine.

Word is $3500...fair from the pics I saw and it's location. Motor might just need a head gasket, etc...who knows but I think both parties did well.
