Gentlemen & Ladies:

What would a 1982 sport with a Johnson 90 on a trailer be worth? The boat is in fair to good condition and runs well.

Thank you.

About a month ago I saw a 17 Standard I think a 97 for sale which is similar to yours with no power but had a trailer and in good shape for $5500. Yours has power which is running so I think you could get 7-8. Most people might turn a blind eye to old power but a new engine is 7-8 thousand add it on to the bare price of $5000 and your at $12,000. $7000 sounds reasonable if in good condition and engine truly is operating in good order.

Actually the 17' in question is a Standard not a Sport.

Back in 82 it was a sport. In 84 or so they came out with the Super Sport and then in the 90's came out with a standard which is setup like a sport sands wood for starboard.

My friend just bought a 1979 Sport with a nice trailer and a great running 1990 Merc 90hp fresh water Ohio boat for $2k. It needs some work like rubrail and varnish etc but honestly when all fixed up she will not be worth $5k. Sports are worth 2/3 of a Montauk. $7k might fetch in some remote part of the world but in most of the 48 it is $4-5k with 30 year old engine in GREAT shape.
