Email for photos. I do not want to get involved in the BS that goes on here when pictures are posted and the same with too many details. If you are looking for a 15' Center Console in either restored or in need of condition, email me. Len |

Some people just like looking at other peoples boats and by posting pictures you feed our appetite for that. |

Here you want a photo to look at how I would restore it: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/an86carrera/1977%20Montauk/ DSC_0081.jpg This boat I am selling could look this good minus the new E-TEC. I am trying to keep any buyer that wants to restore the boat himself the condition as purchased private and sell it for a good price as boat restoration is a lot of personal choices so many folks would rather do it themselves. The boat is an easy restoration in MY eyes. Again if you are interested please e-mail for pictures. Len |

Amazing....have Len restore the boat and it gains 2 feet....worth the cost in my opinion ;) I have seen the boat, it just needs some buffing, paint, and varnish, not a big deal but some like to do it themselves. |

Hey Len, Is it a "restore castration" like the "slightly used" Jack plate I bought from you?? That finally came apart after a MONTH of soaking in penetrating oil. That needed: a complete new HYD system, wiring, relays, sending unit, thrust washers...... ............ Buyer BEWARE. |

Sellers beware. Some people like to buy things that are broken because they think that they want to save money and think they can fix stuff. This was sold as non-working, stating that the unit needed at least a new motor. It was also stated and discussed at the time of pickup that both relays and repairs made to the harness. And now, one year or so later come back and say it needed an overhaul, duh. See: Why not just complain about CMC company for making a marine product that can't stand up to a marine environment? Or ask me in private to make some amends on the price paid? BTW, if you want a jack plate for use in salt water CMC should not be considered since as stated by the unhappy buyer, apparently they cannot be repaired after salt water use. Len |

Hi Len, I E-mailed you three times in private, no reply ever received..........what conclusion would you come to. |

My conclusion would be that since you picked it up in person and held it in your hand and forked over the frog's tongues...you are beat...sorry. |

WoW!! Russ, you picked it up in person. Had plenty of chances to back out. Email didn't work, but you know where Len lives..... I'm thinking buyers remorse has turned into sour grapes. I know Len pretty well and when he sells something mint, it is in good working condition, looks nice, and the price is right. When he sells his non-working hardware (call it junk if you like) he lets you know that it is non-working and will cost you $$$ to get it shipshape. Not to mention that he would have given you your money back within a week or so if you bothered to track him down for real. And now your out to blow his sale, shame on you..... |

What Len sold as slightly used, "that needs only two new relays to make it work", turned out to need many parts replaced.(pretty much every movable part & wire) Yes, I saw the Jack-Plate in person, but it's condition was stated by it's seller. He did not return any of my e-mails. I am not out to "blow his sale", Just stating what I experianced. You as his friend, call his stuff "junk". As they say, if the shoe fits.... As to shame...there is NO shame in telling the TRUTH. Maybe his boat for sale is a great find, or maybe not..... |

Uh Russ...here is his original ad posted above: "Jack plate is also for sale (needs a new motor or repair)$300 come with height gauge." Nowhere did I see it only needs a relay. The gauge is a $100 option as well. |

I gotta third. Len really doesn't have time to mislead...just my observation , and yes, just my $ .02. zotcha. Did you really pick it up in person? Did you get this impression of Len at the time of sale? Curious. Michael. |

Well Frank, IF Len was such an upstanding guy, he would have returned one of my many E-mails, sent a week after I bought the Jackplate. He also would not have stated: "that a couple of relays, would have it up & running, and that the motor is probably fine." As to me driving back to his house to "track him down" probably a waste of four hours of drive time. If he would not return my E-mails, why would I think he would return my money??? The trim gauge is not worth $100.00 if it does not work. My impression of Len, after listening to him, is that he is a good Bullshitter. My bad purchase, is just that... As I stated before. Buyer Beware.

The electric motor was not working as stated, I did not say you could make it run with new relays, if so why would I have not bought new relays and had then a working unit worth many hundreds more. I just did not want to do the repair I have too much else to do than spend time on something I am not interested in anymore. Maybe I am guilty of thinking that someone is understanding me on a technical problem when they are just shaking their head and smiling. I can explain it to you but can't understand it for you. The motor needed to be rebuilt not replaced since CMC will not sell any parts. This would require dis-assembly of the entire unit and repairing the motor. On the last one that I rebuilt I went to an auto electric repair shop and bought a new brush set and cleaned the armature on my lathe, re-assembled and voila, a working unit. I am pretty sure that I explained this to him. I was upfront with him about the condition of the jack plate. Russ probably called CMC and asked to buy a new motor and found out that they won't sell a motor alone, they will only sell a complete hydro-electric assembly. This is why he says it needed all new hydraulics too. Had he done or been able to do it the way I mentioned to him at the time of purchase we would not be having this pissing match. I am really sorry that you did not just call me to discuss the repair with me. Emails are not always the best way connect. During the past year I have had to change my e-mail due to a change in ISPs. Check my profile. Len
BTW, the boat is sold. |

Len, glad to see you unloaded the boat on another unsuspecting sapp!!! Maybe him and Russ can get together to throw you under the bus on the next piece of junk you hustle ;-) Seriously, Len is a stand up guy and as I can see from the most recent posts, explained the level of repairs that would be required to get the thing working. Obviously from the explanation, Len has done it before and chose not to invest the time and effort and let someone else give it a go. It's a shame that Russ got himself in over his head and had no way to make the unit right in his own garage. So like Russ said, buyer beware!! Don't buy stuff that needs fixing if you have no clue how to do the fixing....As far as I can see, there is no harm no foul in this transaction. Russ made a bad decision and is blaming it on Len. |
