What outboard motor powers this boat? Is there a trailer included? http://www.pdlifecom.com/2012/05/28/a-boston-whaler-like-no-other/ |

Why has the front of the bow rail been compressed? Is the surf board included? http://www.pdlifecom.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/boat.jpg |

It has a 55 evenrude that was drained and hasn't been started since at least the Bush administration, as is; everything original down to the keychain; the trailer is included as is everything including vintage water skis, trolling motor, knee board, gas tanks, and slightly musty life vests. I know nothing of any rail compression, i dont even know what that means, i rode on it twice 20 years ago, hope i didnt bend it by sitting on it. |

I think that is one cool looking boat. Maybe its the photo playing tricks but the railing does look like the center support is leaning forward a bit. |

The photo shows the boat tilted slightly downhill away from the viewer, the rail is 15 5/8 inches from the top of the boat on both sides of the center support. |

To my eye, the image shows a pristine 1968 NAUSET. |

I might also add that the boat imo is worth more than 8K but it really depends on your local market I guess. Where I live its at least 3-4 k more even with an older style engine. Just too many whaler nuts over here. |

well the trailer made it from Nashville to Washington, and the family needs a vacation, so maybe i'll get out the highway map to Canada. |

Beautiful boat! Tom Clark - Check out the slatted, concave type platform under the seat. I don't recall one on our Nauset, nor seeing anything like that in a catalog. ? Regards - Don |

Bring that boat to Seattle and I will buy it. It's a gem. Don -- No, I've never seen that rack under the Nauset Pilot Seat before. Looks like it was designed to stow loose gear but keep it up off the deck and dry. Yes, we can plainly see in the second photo that the bow rail stanchion has been shortened for some odd reason. That should be a fairly easy fix. |

Now this is exactly what I want repowered with a new 90 E-tec. Unfortunately, I have a four year old and another on the way so I'll just have to wait until they get out of college. LOL |

What a cool trailer as well. Dates it but that's part of the charm of this great package. The center post I think just needs to come back straight and everything else should adjust to it. |

I just took and posted three more photos including the front rail. You guys have almost persuaded me to put it under glass and keep it until it's the last original 1968 Nauset in the U.S. |

As a previous owner of the same boat 1971 version, the boat is a beauty and easily worth the price. a true classic. Seeing it brings back a lot of memories of my earlier Whaler days. My son commented that this is the boat he grew up in. In all fairness, and since I also have purchased a Whaler with OMC 3 cylinder engines that had not been run in a long time, any buyer should expect to spend around $500 to get the carbs serviced and reconditioned, and for a new impeller, at the least. It also appears all three bow rail stantions are bent. The whole front portion of the bow rail may need to be replaced, simple and reasonably priced task. Note that the port side thru-hull plate is not aligned properly. If I hadn't recently purchased a Montauk, I would own this boat already! I am surprised it has lasted this long! |

I haven't sold a boat before, so I'm not familiar with the forum. Is it common for people to speculate on repairs that might be necessary on a boat they've never seen in person and then concede they A) can't afford it; B) live too far away; or C) already have enough boats. |

Jimo - I was only trying to help out with some constructive, correct and positive information. If you feel my comments are out of line, please request Jim by email to delete my post, which I know he will do and will not be a problem for me at all. Good luck with your sale, you have an excellent boat as far as I can tell from the photos. |

No harm done. I'm overly sensitive because my father-in-law bought this boat June 11, 1969, according to the receipt. It has been cared for by our family for 43 years. He bought quality and preserved it by attention to detail. He will be gratified by the value it retains, and I don't want him to hear unwarranted criticism of a boat he cared for so well. |
