Looking for1975 Outrage 19 ,OEM Teak braces. The original braces are supporting the forward end of the teak gunwale shelves lining the inner gunwales. Also looking for exact measurements for those teak braces as depending on availability, new units will be fabricated. Thanks for your leads. |

Are these not the rear rod holders? If so, may be easier than you think. If you are talking about the part that supports the gunwhale and not the shelf, then that is different. I have a 1977 19 Outrage and my braces are aluminum, not sure if that is factory or not. |

The parts in question are made of wood and are supporting the very forward end for both shelves. Larry's photo from his Classic 19 would describe the actual parts. There may be a possibility to find originals but dimension of items may be the only option left to duplicate. |

Ok Serge, now I know what you are asking about. Is it the shelf support leg in this photo? http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v429/lgoltz/Outrage%2019/?action=view& current=R1-21.jpg From the enlarged photo I would think you could come pretty close on size and shape, but if you want exact dimentions I could get them for you the next time I am in the boat (in the next week or so). |

Good to see that you still have an eye on the list ,Larry. Yes you are correct in describing the brace in question. Without your initial photo and with my hull having been deprived of the original fixture(s) Your original state of Teak braces is what will speak of OEM. I am still wondering if these two support were an "extra" or were all 1975 models equipped with them.? Other Classic 19 1975 owners could possibly have a memory of these Teak supports. To have found the discarded original parts would be swell but the exact dimensions of parts will do just fine. Thank You for your attention Larry and good to see that you still care about the nineteen. |

Serge - On those 19's with the shelf detail, like mine, those supports are original. I don't know about those that have the oval cutout gunwale detail. Yes, I just spent 10 days using the boat in Northern Wisconsin. At the ramps, I had three different, unsolicited and serious, offers to buy the boat anytime I want to sell it! Two insisted I take their names and phone numbers. The other was local to the town where we are. As the years go by, I am finding these 1970's era Outrages are increasingly in demand, and really good original ones are getting very hard to find. When you get your boat restored, you will have a very valuable rig. |

Larry The first model sold for this example of the Classic 19 was produced in 71 and sold to the public in 72 as the Whaler 19. The inner gunwales were sans shelves with inner oval openings. The 73 and 74 models were also similar in gunwale style. The 75through 78 were seen with similar designs that our personal Classic 19 have shown. I will be happy the get the exact dimensions from your model and will look forward to conclude this update. Thanks for the efforts Larry I do appreciate it. |

Serge - I have the dimensions, and will send you a tracing. The piece is cut from 13/16" mahogany (not teak), 8-1/16" long (tall) x 2" wide. |

Thanks a bunch Larry. Keep good care of the Classics. They are what we will refer to when needing some info for updates and OEM fidelity. In my book that is what being of the Whaler crowd is all about. Let me know if you need anything. |
