Hey all, I'm looking to buy a mid 1980's Surf whaler 17' it apears to be in good shap and comes with a 1999 yamaha 90 hp outboard 2 stroke. Any wisdome that could be offered would be greatly appriciated. about how much is it worth? Any problems with the surf whalers that I should know about before I buy it? Whats the difference between surf whaler and the famous Boston Whaler? Please help me out. Thanks a bunch!

A Surf Whaler is NOT a Boston Whaler. They were knock -off clones of the classic Boston Whaler made 17' hull. These knock-off hulls were made in the 80's in the British Columbia region of Canada. If you want a Whaler buy the real thing. Buy a Boston Whaler as a clone never has any value to a Classic Whaler person.
