I found a 1968 13 Sport: 1968 25 Evinrude (runs well). Has some scraping on the keel about 4 feet back from the bow - appears to be just gelcoat damage. No holes inside at all. Very few stress cracks, wood will need replacing, rub rail pulled away for about 4 inches near the bow (probably needs to be replaced), transom is solid - No mounting holes, hull needs buffing out and minor touch-ups. Interior finish is original and okay. Any advice on what I should expect to offer for this "restorable"?

In Wisconsin? This time of year? $1000-$1500. I jest, we will need to see photos, of course! Is it a garage princess, or has it be outside uncovered for 20 years?

It's been garaged for most of its life. Interior is very well preserved. The hull is dirty, but will buff out. Very few stress spider cracks. I know I can get boat, motor (The motor - it appears - is a '70s vintage), and trailer , for between $500 and $1000...

Don't know if I can provide pictures, but my description is pretty accurate. Boat does have nav lights (original) and standard side rails in very good condition.

Give the seller the thousand. Your getting a Boston Whaler with a good running motor and a trailer in decent shape. What more do you want for $1000?Butch |

If it as you say, then $1000 is a steal, even with older power. Buy it, then post photos! Good luck |

Kinda figured it'd be a good deal... I found a 1965 13 just after this one, and the seller wants 2000with no motor - and it has a re-gelcoated outside hull. No telling what damage might have been "fixed" on that one... Thanks for the observations. |

Our first whaler was a 1972. 13 with Johnson 40. We payed $2000.00 With trailer. Put over 2500 hours on it from Maine to Key West. Great Boat We sold it in 1980 2100.00 dollars. For 1000 dollars buy it or tell me where it is? They draw less water than any bass boat and can. Taken off shore. We used to take ours out 12 miles and fish for kings and dolphin not mention water ski etc. |

It's a done deal. This is my 4th 13 Whaler. Can't beat 'em.. I cross Death's Door in Door County WI to Washington Island often, and never have a concern...

I'll work on a photo record of the rehab project in spring. I'd have it in my garage now, but I'm rehabbing my brother's 73 Starcraft Arrow. Can't even work on that right now: it's 4 degrees outside...
