This boat originated in San Diego, Ca., and was brought across country by a military owner. To date I have stripped and flipped this hull. Exterior bottom paint stripped, one coat of original red, two Royal Blue. PITA!!! Dry sanded from 100 grit all the way up to 400, then wet sanded 600, 800, 1000, 1500 and finally 2000. All scratches and dings filled, sanded, filled and sanded again with Spectrum Desert Tan Gel Coat. Bottom then 3M Heavy Compound, Finesse It II and III, and waxed with Mothers Pure Carnauba wax. Factory perfect. New carpeted bunks, flipped and same procedure to interior Desert Tan minus gel coating all existing screw holes.
Entire interior scrapped in preparation for conversion from side steer to center consul. Next visited High and Dry Boat Works of Charleston to learn about wood in floors and creating a rigging tube. Removed tunnel cover, removed foam and had them glass and spray rigging tube through forward wall of bilge.
Next custom built a 7" tall by 1.5" thick, Mahogany hinged base for fiberglass consul to mount. Idea was fuel and battery inside consul. Duplicated original risers to 5/4" Mahogany, as well as forward anchor locker hatch. All wood is sanded and assembled awaiting two coats of West System epoxy and as many coats of varnish as you wish.
Boat includes steering helm, cable, ss 13" 5 spoke wheel with finger grooves. Also includes custom aluminum 18 gallon fuel cell, with sending unit, vented cap, and fits perfectly under new mini custom aluminum leaning post. No rod holders or whale tail. Designed to turn around and fish out the back while anchored. Folding foot rest forward and tank sticks out the rear as a foot rest while fishing.
New factory rub rail. New Specialty Marine Bow light/chock. Original tallest stern light. New Racor mini fuel/water separator.
Vance jack plate and Transom Saver removable. Some miscellaneous other details. For trailer see FS 1982 15 Sport. Open to Best/Reasonable Offers. Please no tire kickers. Email is current. zot.
